We have started this series with five upcoming books. Four are written for ages 7 and up. One is written for pre and early readers. Of course, we will leave it up to the parents and educators to determine the best starting point to our series. Each books is filled with fun facts, illustrations based on the author’s photos from her own trip across Route 66, games, and opportunities for extended learning here on the website and beyond! Plus, accessibility and inclusion information is outlined by state in each book.
This is where the Route 66 series starts. With Jack, Jade, Buddy, and Oso riding through the great state of Illinois. They will encounter Muffler Men, learn about space from the “Gemini Man” and even face the very door of President Abraham Lincoln’s family home. We encourage our readers of the Illinois book to make a treasure box and play the interactive games.
The next part of this Route 66 adventure is through three states – Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma. It is in this book that they learn about First Americans. Readers also will be able to learn about the Blue Whale and a special rig in the middle of a rural town! Plus, what is it about Texola and it being a ghost town?
