The Travel with Oso series is designed for our school-aged readers, but adults are enjoying the series, too! Our goal is simple- to educate, enteratin, and engage with our reading audience. So, go ahead and meet our Travel Crew (others will be joining, too!)
Jack is an amazingly talented “tween”! He loves to travel because photography is his passion. He also writes in his journal, because writing is his second hobby! He uses a wheelchair for mobility. But, he definitely does not see himself as limited, but as differently ABLED! (You will find accessiblity information here.)
Jade is our exhuberant elementary – aged crew member! She loves to be helpful, kind, take care of animals, and travel, of course! She has ADHD, so sometimes she can be a bit “bouncy” – but we think her high energy level is her SUPER POWER!
Buddy is a trained service dog. For the purpose of this travel series, he also has a more active role as a crew member. But, we hope that readers will learn more about the different jobs of a service dog and how they are dedicated family members, too!
Oso may look like your regular teddy bear. But, there is nothing ordinary about our mascot! First, his name is derived from Spanish. OSO means BEAR in Spanish! Also, he has some vision challenges, thus, he wears his really cool blue glasses. He can be a bit mischevioius- you may even see he plays hide and seek in some of our books or games! And, he is the best of friends to our Jack, Jade, and Buddy. Oso also travels solo and sometimes with other crew members – who we will introduce to you all soon!
